Reimagining Death

Reimagining Death: Connecting with our Ancestral Legacies

healing our concept of dying through the legacy and the wisdom of our ancestral cultures

a journey through the maps that have bequeathed us the ancestral knowing of the original peoples of the Américas, as well as the visions from a variety of other ancestral cultures

Compassionate accompaniment involves two very different kinds of knowledge: one fully theoretical that allows us to work therapeutically, and another that depends on the internalization of a series of personal skills from which compassion, empathy, trust and all human potential emanate that is needed to create a therapeutic bond between the accompanied and the companion.

The idea of death that prevails in our current culture unfolds in the collective imagination as a sick, morbid and terrible image that irremediably connects us with tragedy, suffering and loss. And it is from that dark space that we enter into relationship with it and, from where we intend to be the guide and companion of others.

Fortunately, there are many other routes and maps to navigate this important part of life from more creative and healthy views and approaches, such as those offered by the ancestral knowledge of our peoples and other cultures.
