The Green Burial Council is a non-profit organization that inspires and advocates for environmentally sustainable care of death through education and certification.
Our values are to respect rituals that create meaning for both the living and the dead, to honor the land and recognize the importance of caring for it in the way we bury the dead, recognizing and honoring that funeral and burial traditions are sacred.
It is a priority of the Green Burial Council to make care for death both environmentally and operationally sustainable so that future generations can benefit from this effort. We strive for integrity in all aspects of our operation by maintaining the highest standards and are leaders in making certified and sustainable practices of death care available to everyone.
